Campbell

According to the
Ottawa Citizen, the Senators are in the running for impending
unrestricted free agent defenseman Brian Campbell.
Campbell's agent, Larry Kelly, told the paper the Senators are
among the frontrunners to sign his client, "as long as they're in
the market."
The San Jose Sharks have granted several teams permission to
speak with Campbell before July 1, a list that reportedly includes
the Senators, New York Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers, Boston Bruins and
Montreal Canadiens.
The Chicago Blackhawks are also expected to push hard for
Campbell once the market doors open next Tuesday, and sources tell
TFP there is definite interest from the All-Star defenseman.
Campbell could take in around $7 million via free agency,
according to reports, although teams could offer around $6 million
per year on a long-term contract.
