JR started playing at age seven with his father. His greatest golf thrill was playing in the Western Open with Peter Jacobsen, Michael Jordan and Raymond Floyd. Shot his best round of 68 at Woods Hole in Massachusetts. Strength: length off tee. Weakness: putting. Payne Stewart is his golf hero.
JR has participated in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship for several years and participated again in 2003. He was the winner of the Long Drive Competition in 2002 and 2000.

JR finished 44th in the 2003
tournament, with scores of 83-88-77, winning $3,368.50. He finished 46th in the
2002 tournament, with scores of 84-86-81, winning $3,219.00. And he finished 29th in the 2001 tournament,
with scores of 79-84-83 (246) - 28 over par, winning $3,135.00. 1996 - Tied for 31st.
JR tied for 28th place in 2000, and won $4,652.
